Silverback gorillas in their natural habitat, gorgeous landscapes, genocide memorials. The memorials do not allow photographs out of respect for the dead. The emotional impact is tremendous.
El Salvador

The Route of the Flowers: a string of gorgeous small towns with stunning murals. The vibrant city of Santa Rosa and its churches. Mayan ruins. The surfer town of El Zonte and its beautiful beach and tremendous sunsets. The bus system is super-cheap. Yes, sometimes folks had their chickens aboard. One trip a mother had her baby half on my lap. I didn’t mind. The baby was cute and quiet.
Italy
2003
My wife Kathleen was a competitor in a figure skating event in France. We had some extra time so we took a train to Italy and hit up in Turin. Milan, and Brescia.
Vietnam

This was part of a trip that included Thailand and Cambodia. Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta was the focus of our visit.
